Ajuga reptans 'Silver Beauty' - Bugleweed

The Silver Beauty Ajuga offers lovers of variegated foliage an option when it comes to very low-growing groundcovers. While there really is nothing "silver" about this plant, it's my assumption that the foliage variegations, making the plant "read" as a grayish colored plant, is how it got a name with silver in it. This variety blooms at the same time as other Ajuga, but because there is less contrast between bloom and foliage (compared to the dark green/purple of Bronze Beauty or Chocolate Chip), the flowers are less noticeable. Also, in plantings where multiple Ajuga varieties have been planted, I've found Silver Beauty to be comparatively less hardy.
