Berberis thunbergii var. atropurpurea 'Concorde' - Concorde Barberry

The Concorde Barberry offers some of the deepest, darkest purple foliage you'll find in a Barberry. This small shrub will only reach 2' in height with a 2-3' spread. Branching and foliage are more dense. As with most other atropurpurea Barberries, a greater exposure to sun will yield a deeper purple leaf. This densely foliated plant has small, inconspicuous yellow blooms in spring, and has thorns that I've found to itch the skin when scratched by them.
