The Ground Trades Xchange is a site designed for people in the green industry. Horticulture plays a very large role in the industry, and also plays an important role in our site. If you have an interest in horticulture or are in fact a horticulturalist, we'd love to have you as a member. Membership to our site is free, and gives you great access to the discussions on our site, pictures and other features that are not visible to non-registered visitors. So whether your interest is identifying plant diseases, improving your cultural practices, or testing your plant id skills, we have something for you. I invite you to visit our little corner of the worldwide web: The
Ground Trades Xchange.
Horticulture - Plant Identification Quizzes
Part of what's great about our little community
of people in the landscape industry is that we have a wide variety of
members. Some have spent their lives working with large plant
nurseries. Our members often post plant identification quizzes on the site, called the "Plant of the Week". A picture of the plant is posted along with a brief description, and other members try to identify the plant. Because the author of this page is more a hardscaper than a horticulture guy, you may find more success with the quizzes than I do.
Well, we certainly are not a horticulture
magazine. However, the information that members post on our site is always
available, and always relevant. And the information you'll find here is authored by people knowledgeable in the field, and not edited for size or content, so you'll get the straight dirt you need for you various plant queries.
Horticulture Supplies
If
there's one thing our industry never runs short of, it's horticulture
supplies. Whether it's horticultural oils, grafting knives, burlap, or
wire baskets, you'll find someone with experience in the topic. I should
clarify something - we don't sell any horticultural supplies. We might
advertise for this supply or that, but we don't sell any. We just provide
a place for people in the landscape industry to talk to each other, comparing
notes and information that might be of interest or importance in our industry.
Thanks for visiting. I do hope you'll
look over some of the discussions we've had on our site, and that you'll feel
comfortable enough after looking around that you decide to register
as a member. Registration is free, and we will never share any of your
personal information with anyone. Not even with other members of the site,
if that's what you'd prefer.
