Curb Markers??

Hello everyone
Need some assistance if possible. We just were arwarded a snow removal contract for a 55 and over community. We are in need of the stakes that mark the fire hydrants and the curbing. Does anyone out there know where I can purchase them in bulk.
Thanks for your help

Would rebar be cheaper? Is it an option?

Around here it's mainly rebar as markers, and some commerical properties use those safety caps on the ends of them.

I think rebar is now a safety concern that becomes a liability issue. wood stakes work well, but need to get them in before the ground freezes to hard.

Get yerself a few 20' hunks of schedule 40, 1/2" waterpipe and a box of pipe caps. Drive them into the ground with a dead blow hammer....OR....you can go 3/4" 40, caps on both ends, drill a 3/8" hole in the center of one cap. then take some mans nails (edging spikes) and push through the hole, place a washer on top of the nail and glue it down until the cap won't push on anymore.

For color, get a quart of oil based paint. these will last several winters.
