Demolition work

An architect that we've done some work for is now remodeling homes and has asked me about doing some demo work for him during the winter. It seems like a good idea but I don't have any clue on pricing this kind of work. Anyone done this before?

It depends on what is type of demo ceilings? floors? walls? whole rooms? Is it going to be done by hand or with machinery? Who is supplying the containers or you carting your own debris. I do demo work and it all depends on the circumstances access to the work were to put a container and what is getting removed.

We would be doing interior demo by hand and he would supply the containers. Basically gutting an entire house leaving only the framing. They want every nail pulled so the drywall guys don't have to bother with it.

I would think a hourly charge/day charge would work well. If you are basically filling some slow time in for the winter, I know I would be willing to work on some sort of daily rate just for the point of keeping the guys and myself busy.

You could work by the hour or by the day but then have no incentive. For example i just did a ceiling demo 1800sf of triple layer ceiling tin, bead board and tounge and groove 1x8 i charged 2.00/ sf demo and cart it cost me about 1,000.00 dollars id did use my own containers and my guys busted there behinds. If i would have done by the day i would have lost a ton of profit.
