Gettin' ready yet?

The calls for snow quotes are picking up already, earlier than usual for around here. I haven't sent out renewals yet, but then most of mine are annual customers already under contract. I'll be crunching out the quotes next week when I find time to do them.

I'm trying not to worry too much about having no plow operators lined up except for myself. I've got four employees: one was a summer student, two are experienced employees that are going to look for other work this winter and will only be available part-time at best, and the fourth is my 59 yr old dad, who has no interest in plowing another winter.

Fun stuff 'aint it? I envy you guys in the sunshine states.

Hmm, I think you've got something there. Maybe I'll start offering free re-laying of pavers in the event of an earthquake, or maybe free plant replacement in case of wildfire damages.

It's kind of like when you see "Fat Free" written on the potato chips. Anything free, you gotta jump on. Sort of Cholesterol free bacon. Bacon is $3.00 a pound, Cholesterol, no charge...Gotta move on those deals like that!

I like the deal offered at the Ministry of Transportation for vehicle license stickers. One year $109...OR...pay now for two years at $218. Nice.

Usually end of November before we've finished our fall cleanups. Final push is usually end of March, sometimes early April. Most properties got plowed 15 times last year (>2") and salted 17x.
