Digging a Waterfall tunnel...

Hi everyone...
I am currently working on a design for a theme park where I have to illustrate the Story of Prophet Moses and the Hebrews...

So, in the land i am working on, there is this 5 meters high wall, so i have been thinking that maybe we can dig a wide tunnel into its deep and so from the walls that form on the sides we can create cascades so that when people walk in the story of the Red Sea Miracle flashes into their minds...

I am asking if it is possible to do such a thing?

what should be done to prevent the walls from collapsing?

Thanks...

1- Anything's possible
2- Do whatever the engineer tells you.

Fine Edge is an unknown quantity at this point
Exactly, because if I remember correctly, the Red Sea didn't come crashing down on all of the good people.
That's what could possible happen when you want cascading waterfalls coming down the sides of a newly dug tunnel.

When you are talking about theme park, do you mean something like 6 Flags or Disney?

Hope I didn't sound abrupt, but if I'm understanding you correctly, you're looking at a passageway between two fifteen foot tall retaining walls? Those walls will require engineering regardless of whether a waterfall is involved or not; when the engineer is designing the walls, make sure to let him/her know that you want to integrate a waterfeature. To get the effect that you want you're going to need a spillway running the entire length of the wall. The spillway is one thing, but you may also have an issue with the footer needing to change to accommodate the basin that receives and recirculates the water. If it were me (sounds like a badass project, by the way) I'd draw the conceptual drawing, including my best guess at a section view, and hand it off to my friendly neighborhood P.E. with the instructions to keep it cool looking but make it work.

You're talking about not just a commercial site, but a high-traffic commercial site where the end user will be pretty close to this to get the full effect. Your best bet is to come up with the ideas, get credit for the ideas (VERY important), and have someone with more specialized skills make it work.

thanks guys...

@Fine Edge: Theme park can be like disney or 6 flags and it can also be a park about a certain topic having a certain theme for it that will be for amusment, adventure discovery and finally knowledge about new things at the same time...
i will show you the project when it is totally finished.
Take care...
