Commercial Work?

I know that I have asked the same question in the past, but what are the best ways to not only land commercial jobs, but find the jobs to bid on. I have a handle on the numbers game, I just need help on where to look and what to do when I find them (what to send them).

You could purchase a business with existing commercial contracts.

just pick a business that you want to mow and walk in and ask if its a small mom and pop business ask for the owner or manager and ask him when he is accepting bids on landscape services if it is a corporation or national chain you might have to ask for the facilities manager most businesses re up their contracts around the first of the year so you had better hurry

Prepared to be shocked on how low the bigger Corps go in their request for contracts. Companies look at the bottom line with even more compassion than homeowners and usually have multiple bids to compare.

PS-Hope your Pesticide license is in order, I've been inspected twice while on commercial sites.

Visiting

I would start in large commercial building area's (industrial parks) and start dropping off some business cards and/or flyers. Also just walking in and asking for the person who handles the grounds/ lawncare. I can almost assure that if you can come in under the current bid and they aren't under contract with someone else they will consider changing. Just make sure all your licenses and insurance are current and available for them to view.
