How much to charge per hour?

Hi everyone. This year i'm starting my own business doing plantings, pavers, stonewalls, and also i have an A.S in Horticulture. I have 2 years experience from my old boss who will be subing me out work for the summer. For most jobs i will just be doing labor, no materials. I was just wondering with what i have to offer what should i charge him per hour keeping in mind taxes and the overheads of owning your own business?

How much overhead do you have and how much do you need to live on?

If you do a search on the site for the info you are after, you will find a ton of good threads. This subject has been gone over on this site numerous times. Good luck on your search and welcome to the site.

It may depend somewhat on your old boss. If he previously had you providing labor at $xx/hr he might not be prepared to pay a large difference this time around. I may be reading more than there is into your post, but it sounds like you might be in a gray area straddling the line between employee/subcontractor.
