questn selling a landscape business

Does anyone have experience selling a landscape business and/or advice and thoughts on how to go about it?

I have done some research online and found brokers, but am not sure what they charge or if they would even be interested.

What is the best way to reach potential buyers?

If this is the wrong forum for this message please direct me to the right one.

Thanks!

pineapple - we're just getting to know you and now you're selling? Sorry to hear it - I liked the approach you took with your website - thought it sent a good message.

Do you have any seasoned employees that might be interested in the business?

We actually have a member or two who recently sold their biz, so they might be able to provide some invaluable insight into the process. Unfortunately, that member or two isn't me.

I am mulling over the possibilities of selling off the maintenance portion of my biz. It consumes about 80% of my time, and I don't have a lot of time or energy left for the design/build part, which is why I got in the business to start with.

No employees who might be interested.

I looked at selling my business, but it was much to personal for me, landscaping was more of one on one with contractors and park districts. I couldn't find a person that really wanted to take it that way.
