Stonehenge is on a distinguished road
When you say 'door to door' do you mean knocking on doors? If so, I can feel for you. I tried that for a few days about 15 years ago, and it can be a very lonely road.

We've had success with door hanger packets, and I do a host of PR activities to get us into the limelight.

If you haven't already, I'd spend a little time in the Landscaping Sales and Marketing forum, and read through some of the old threads. Lots of good info in there to get you started.

I made up an 8 1/2 by 11 flyer and stuffed mailboxes in the neighborhoods I wanted work from. This worked out pretty well and was not too expensive.

I've since had a tri-fold brochure made up I plant in target neighborhoods. It offers a little more information and is more preofessional looking.

Just be aware that it's illegal to place anything in a mailbox, though it's rarely enforced

there is an easy cheap way to get your name out as well. In hoods that have associations, they usually have a news letter. Find out A if they do, and B, how you can advertise in that letter.

We hooked up with one in 11 associations in Naperville, Il, and within 4 months we had 100 or so accounts. There was good money in maintenance as long as they were lumped together.

Shawn- our local newpaper has a directory of service providers in which I placed ads for my services. The jobs were not very big but there were many and it got me through my first year. The ads were a little expensive but they always paid off. Good Luck.

If you just want the magnets - Kinko's has them for a little over 100.00 for 2. I bought the vinyl letters.
