how to give Plants & trees a good start in spring

Hello

I'm a Landscaper in Ontario and we did a town home project last summer and are still liable for the plants and trees that we planted in the fall, we ended up getting hit by a big snow storm in the beginning of november and didn't have the cedars wraped in time (8ft & 4ft cedars), luckly i was around and brushed the snow off all of the cedars but there was still some damage caused. My Question is there anything i can do ie:fetilizers to help the trees and plans in the spring so they don't die and we have to pay to replace them. The one good thing is that we have had lots of snow and melting periods this winter so there shouldn't be a lack of water come spring.

Cheers

NCSULandscaper is on a distinguished road
fertilize with a good slow release just before the plants come out of dormancy, and prune any damaged material out
