frustrated with my jet agitation machine.

Not big enough, can't push through wood fiber, can't handle more than 250-300# of hydromulch per 600 gallon tank.

What's a new Bowie or Finn going for these days?

I think a new T60 is $20K+... but 250-300 lbs. per 600 gal. is a pretty dry mix anyways. My older Finn 800 doesn't even like that much. I Like spraying it wetter anyhow but it limits coverage per tank. Looked at new Bowies during the winter, awesome machines, and I think they're comparable to Finns in price.

Ok a couple of things, we run 250 lbs of wood mulch thru our 600 gallon Finn, don't think your going to get more than that in fact most jet machines want you to run 30 to 40 lbs of mulch per 100 gallons of water. What do they cost............ New my Finn T60TT runs $18,500 thats with tower, and 200 ft of hard hose on a power hose reel. Then start adding arrow board and warning lights it gets even more $$.

One question I have for you are you using a tack with your mulch? We have found that it helps improve mixing (acts as a wetting agent) Plus it reduces clogs.

I never really considered tack because we're almost always seeding converted farmland that's flat, flat, flat.

So that T60TT is a 600 gallon unit?

well you have to think of tack as a glue that makes the mulch pump better

Yes it's a 600 gallon unit we get about 550 gallons of water plus the 250 lbs mulch we add 5 lbs of Finn tack or 1.5 lbs of Slickly Sticky. We are using Slickly Sticky more now becase it's cheaper and faster to mix plus it holds better on heavy slopes. Of course on some we have used 8 lbs of Finn tack and 1.5 lbs of Slickly Sticky in one tank on some slopes.

I shoot about 4 cups of Mat tack to a tank plus I throw in a gallon of crop oil for lube with 5 bales in 700 gals of water. Makes a nice mix.
