Protective Tarps

I am picking up 15 12' trees on Monday. I do not have enough woven tarps to cover the load because of the size trailer I am using. Can regular tarps be used to do this transport? When I say "regular" I am refering to the big blue or grey ones you can get at a Lowes or Home Depot. When I started I bought a couple of tarps from the nursery and have never asked anyone about the other types available. Thank you in advance to all that give answers. btw THIS SITE IS GREAT

The other tarps will be fine. Just keep in mind that these tarps magnify the heating effect of the sun and can be a problem if the truck isn't moving and sitting in the sun. But they will protect from the wind.

This advice is probably late, but be sure to tie down those blue tarps really tight to the trees - because they are "solid". the wind can and will blow those in and out wherever there's slack. Years ago I defoliated many a tree using those tarps for transport.

Years ago I lost the side boards off our mason dump because of one of those tarps! On the garden state parkway! Be careful.

I forgot about how those tarps flap around when they are loose.

thank you all for your response. Because of a situation that has come up this weekend the load of trees will now be split 6 one trip and 9 on another day. I'll just go and buy some more landscape tarps, i guess in the future it wont be bad to always have a couple of extras on hand for situations like this. Once again thanks
