What tree close to the house?

I have a potential customer, who is requesting I replace the aspens that were on the side of her home, within 6 ft of the foundation. Aspens are not a good idea, and I normally don't plant trees close to the house.

This is a home on the side of a hill, with a walk out basement, a north exposure, pretty windy site. I have no idea what to put there. Suggestions?

You might try an Enkianthus campanulatus.

Hardy range 5A to 7B
Height 12' to 18'
Spread 10' to 15'
Growth rate Average
Form Rounded and upright or erect
Exposure Partial shade or partial sun to full sun
Persistence Deciduous

It's such a pretty small tree. I believe it will take the wind.
