Books on Plant Problems

What are the books or other resources on plant problems have you found most useful. Stonehenge recommended Ortho's book on this site. I have an American Hort Society book that sucks quite a bit. Any other ideas?

I use the 'big fat ortho book' or Greer's for Rhodies and such for their ilk. If I can't get the diagnosis from either of those then I look online and usually track it down somewhere.

You can't beat Diseases and Pests of Ornamental Plants by Pascal P. Pirone every professional should have one. Can be a bit pricey but worth every penny. Unfortunately the last edition was published in 1978 so naturally some of the information is no longer relevant.

I forgot I posted this. That's what I get for always clicking the "View new posts" button.

I haven't checked out the ortho book yet but two votes sounds like its worth a look.

I would think most of the controls have changed since 1978, but a lot of the problems are the same. I'll check it out.

I frequently look to "The Organic Gardener's Handbook of Natural Insect and Disease Control" By Ellis and Bradley.

It offers more earth friendly options than Ortho -- if you have customers who are looking for that.
