I need a tree that does not produce fruit or seed!?

I need a couple of trees, preferably evergreen, for a commercial application. Because of the nature of the business it is necessary that the trees do not bear fruit or seed. Flowering is okay. Zone 6B-7..........Any ideas?

Is it a vasectomy or sterility clinic?

When you say fruit or seed, do you mean any seed? For example, junipers have berries, but they aren't the kind that draw much attention from people or wildlife.

I'm also curious about the type of business that would make this a constraint.

They're living organisms, they will fruit... even those that are sterile often produce a non-reproductive fruit.

Cryptomeria japonica doesn't have very noticeable fruit.

Hmm, this sounds like you need one of these; evergreen, doesn't get over 20' but is available in an 8-10' range, self pruning, never drops needles, no cones, drought tolerant, and can take full sun or shade. Pinus fictitious 'Perfecta'

On the serious side, I second the cryptomeria japonica, I would go with 'Elegans' or 'Elegans Aurea.' Nearly maintenance free with good fall/winter coloring.

If you want flowering with no fruit or seed, most Flowering cherries or plums have no fruit or seeds, heck, even flowering pears don't have any, but none of these are evergreen.

Thanks for the suggestions. I think I've decided to use one of the male Holly trees for this project. It's in the food industry and no birds are wanted.
