rhizomatous tall fescue

Anyone planting this seed? I've got a thing for turf-type tall fescue, and RTF has caught my attention.

Do you have a link on this ??

I am in the grass seed capital of the world, I talk with seed sales persons 3 times a week, and I have never heard of this.

Fescue is a prarie type clumping grass, and to be rhizomonus would be quite a breeding feat.

yes sprayed some today. last fall we started experiementing with these types of fescue and are continuing until we find the blend that we want.

We just started trying the product that you have the link to. Last year we was using a 80/20 TTTF / Ann Rye blend. It has appx 20% Defiance in it ( I think i would have to check the label to be sure). We had good results with it, (with the customers that actually followed instructions) however i dont really like that much rye in the mix. so we are looking at some other options.

I have used grande II rtf in a a my main seed mix for the last several years. I love it.

Here in KC fescue is the grass of chice for our deadly July August days. USually 10 - 15 days of 100+ degree hear -- KBG goes dormant.

Don't be fooled -- it is not a cure all miracle grass -- but it works well and make s agreat lawn.

are you still using any KBG in your mixes. I started trying these last fall in a attempt to either totally remove or have a small amount of KBG and still have a nice filled in lawn.

No -- I use a mix of three or four fescue varieities -- but avoid mixing blues and fescue. Cut at 3" I think blue. fescu lawn starts to look clumpy.

Tall fescue turf intrigues me because I have seen it stay strong and dark green under adverse conditions. I appreciate the feedback so far. I believe I may toy around with RTF if I can my hands on some seed.
