Am I "in the ballpark?"

I bid a job today, and in hindsight, I fear I may have left some cash on the table. Job consists of planting trees/shrubs. 3 - 2inch caliper red maples (my cost per tree...128.85), 9 - 15 gallon Crape Myrtles (my cost...40.00 a pop), and 20 - 3 gallon laurel (my cost 16.00 a pop). Access is excellent, though on a hill. My total bid was $3,320, and it all carries a 1 year warranty. I know my numbers fairly well, and this is a decent profit for me, but I am just curious as to how others would bid a similar job? Help keep me in check! -MF

I take my total material cost and triple. You are in the ballpark as far as I bid.

My price with 4 yards of good organic planting mix and 5 yards of double hammered hardwood mulch ( excellent erosion control on slopes ) included in the estimate would run about $3621.00 with 1 year warranty.
My mini skid steer with auger attachments ( tiller if needed ) have made planting installs one of our more profitable areas of landscaping.
You're in the ballpark.

Definitely not too high. Hiiside planting takes a little longer than something on the flat.

One thing regarding the "hill"

I don't know how big the "hill" is?

Other than that....adding some amendments and applying cover mulch....that would be in the ball park for the work in my area.

Yeah I'd be right there plus soil amendments and labor for bed prep if neccesary and mulch. Good luck.

At a little over 3x plant cost, yeah I'd say you're competitive.
