Pricing Shrub Bed Weed Control

How much do you charge per 1000 sqft and what product do you use?

$40/man-hour and my hands...plus those of my employees. RoundUp where possible.

I think what cutntrim is saying is that he doesn't use weed barrier and I don't either unless it is for a temporary display or something that will be replaced each season.. There are many reasons for this but chief among them is that weed barrier doesn't prevent weeds for more than a year or two and that after a few years you end up with a bed full of pieces of weed barrier sticking up a waving in the wind. A wise man once told me that if a weed barrier is thick enough to actually prevent weeds from growing through it it is also thick enough to prevent air and nutrients from getting down to the plant. Weeding, round Up, trimmers and pre-emergents do the job.

the only thing worse than weed barrier is bright red mulch. if you are going to put down weed barrier make sure you put bright red mulch on top of it.

There is one thing worse. Having to add new plant material when
weed barrier is down with red mulch.

Rob, I think my sub is somewhere around 50 per k for roundup apps to shrub beds... How does this compare to what you are getting?

LOL

Sorry.

We tank mix Barricade and and it's worked pretty well. There was a post a day or two ago about PreenPro and a lot of people responded with the preemergents they use. Check it out. I'll have to look into our exact pricing but 50/k sounds reasonable.
