Landscaping Paper

What kind of tacking do you all use when it comes to putting down landscape paper? I am currently doing a job that is requiring about 14-20 tons of tan landscaping stone and we are having a lot of wind here. We normally use nails to tack down the corners. Does anyone have any more methodical ways that you use?

We use turf staples. Seems to work well for us.

Use the tan stone. It's going on top anyway.

Several years ago I worked for a 'scaper while I was in school who used weed fabric a lot. We used the stiff heavy duty wire that is for holding batt insulation in place. We simply bent the 16+" wire in half and pushed them in. It comes in boxes cut to length.

We use fabric staples. The sod staples in our area are 2" by 6". We can get bulk boxes of 1000 1" by 6" fabric staples at our local rock yard. The box runs about $30.00 These staples work great in our clay soils. They make your life a whole lot easier and you just figure them into the cost of the job. The cost will be recuiped quickly if a gust of wind comes up and your crew is chasing fabric down the street.

i use the biodegradable stakes like you use on erosion control fabrics, because by the time these biodegrate, the fabric will be no good and coming out of the ground, so instead of messing with rusty staples and losing them in the yard, i have nothing to worry about

I join two pieces of fabric with liquid nails down the seam. For edges I dig a slight trench and bury the edges.
