Plant of the Week 54
Here we have a plant originating from the southern hemisphere (Not Aussie though!).
This is a neat low shrub with an upright erect habit. It grows well in baskets, pots and in the ground. It flowers well from Autumn(Fall) to Spring in zones 9-11.
It is hybrid, so I am after species and cultivar.
After POTW53 this is another one for the (American) southerners.

I can't wait to find out. Someone gave me one last year as a house warming present. I brought it in last winter, but let it freeze this year. It bloomed in October in my neighborhood.

You're right Dan - You are wrong...
It is a South African plant. I've checked a few US plant websites and it is definitely available there in the USA. There were several comments from people growing it in Florida and other southern states.
It likes warmer conditions (Zones 9-11), grows best in part sun, and even blooms well in almost full shade.
Unless in a glasshouse, I imagine you would struggle to grow it in Ontario.

I most certainly did not Photoshop it!
As I said it is a South African plant, it is hybridised. The plant can be found on the PlantZAfrica website : http://www.plantzafrica.com/ (Though there are a LOT of plants on here so hunting it down might take some time)
Avant Gardens in Massachusetts even has this plant in stock - With pictures of it on their website! Other American states where people have reported it grows include: CA, FL, TX, LA, OH, AL, GA.
I thought this plant might be an easier one for you guys than an Australian plant that might be even more obscure...

OMG!!! Just what we need... an Aussie making all of us who think we're so smart feel humbled.
I'll do a little research, but don't expect much.

Not a 'stumper' after all. Have had two correct replies. Will give it another couple of days, then post the answer okay.
