online pond supply dealers

Anybody have good online pond supply sources that sell to landscape contractors without huge retail mark-up?

Most of my stuff I source locally -- but on the pond speciifc items such as bottom drains, skimmers and such there is not a good green industry dealer that I know of.

You may want to visit http://aquascapedesigns.com or pondsweep USA, Greg's Dads company or in PA we use http://watsonirrigationsupply.com for lighting and pond systems.

Thanks Gardenhaus -- you always come through for people.

I stopped using ADI stuff after I kept having to replace stuff on it. I htink their systems have merit -- bu their products have proven to be complete junk -- atleast inmy experience.

I'm still looking for a dealer that i can order lots of the things like bulkheads, bottom drains gate valves, flex pvc, etc from.

I don't think I have ever seen an Aquscape pump make it to its second birthday. Neither ones I've installed or any one elses

On a side-note Hamons, how's that water-feature project coming? Looking forward to an update in your "GTX will guide him" thread...

Not sure what the problem was with the pumps you are installing.....we have only had to replace one pump in seven years of installing ADI products and it turned out the clients wizard electrician of a son did not have sufficient voltage to the outlet.......that will burn a pump out every time( I left with it plugged into the outlet already on the side of the home) I should have checked after he installed it....but we replaced the pump anyways......He just paid alot more for his next service visit

We require any client that has us install a water garden or low voltage lighting system to run a home run to the panel and have a separate circuit for each transformer we set.....or we don't do the project, period.

I am sure you have a voltage meter to check each installation. We always check line voltage.

The pumps in our display ponds I believe are about 7 to 8 years olds and have run 24/7/365 for that entire time and no problem.

The other thing that can cause pumps to burn prematurely is people not cleaning their pads or debris bag on a regular basis.....at least weekly......You should never restrict flow into a pump and outflow shouldn't be restricted either, although won't burn the pump as quickly.....

Problems with Aquascape pumps have come up before on GTX, and I think most of the difficulties arose in the past two years when Aquascapes changed manufacturers...anyone remember which thread that was in? Anyway, perhaps your 8 year old pumps were grandfathered in Gardenhaus, before the buck took over at ADI.

Voodoo-

Try also Stoney Creek Equipment. They're in your region (Michigan, I think) and have an EXCELLENT array of supplies. They sell Savio (my personal choice) and a number of other brands and have pumps for any situation you could possibly come across. Also, they have a great technical staff. If you're needing info on exactly which pump to spec into a plan, just talk to them or fax a plan and they'll point you in the right direction. They do special order stuff, too.
