Marcus, The poll doesn't make sense. I think you need to edit it a little. As far as pricing for maintenance, see what others are
getting in your area. Others here can help you with that.
Mulch and plantings are very hard to give you a chart- type
dollar figure on. Why not start out with seeing how much your
company needs per hour to cover all labor, gas etc. plus your
hourly salary and add materials to that. Good Luck, Johnny

Unless you kn ow what your time costs you, which is impossible for anyone here or other places to tell you, telling you how to charge is like going to the brick supply yard and having them ask you how much they should charge you for their bricks....

So, first, how much does your time sell for? And how did you tabulate all the criteria to achieve that figure?

Second, how long does it take you to mow X amount of square feet? Fill in the blank_X______________

Third, how long does it take you to clean X feet of gutters? For a one story, for a 2 story????? X__________________

Fourth, what are you planting? What size tree, container, flat etc? And how many of each? You need the time taken for each size. Then there are little things per job, like, how far from the road did you have to wheel mulch, and how many loads, and how long did that take you? And what do all the products cost you are installing?

If you can provide all those answers, anyone here can give yuo some numbers if you still need help.

I can't be of any more help with the information you provided.

We should have a page made up for people breaking into
the business with all these questions and answers so they can
read all the faq's and answers. I would be happy to do it.
I would research the archives and put it together.
Gutter cleaning, I would say, would have many different
variables. Do you need to go on the roof? etc.

HDK - You must be either very generous, or have a lot more spare time than I do. I would not volunteer (or have the time) to create a FAQ section such as you suggest.

Marcus - You're in the right place (this forum) to find the answers to many questions regarding maintenance, installation, and business concerns...however, I would suggest thoroughly reading through all of the archived posts you can - FIRST. Then ask away as far as specific inquiries.

You just asked us to structure the pricing (and methods of) for what is likely your entire list of services offered. Sorry, but you aren't going to get a concise answer telling you to charge $xx.xx/weekly cut or $xx.xx/hr with xx% markup on materials.

You need to know how much it will cost YOU to do the work, then you can decide an appropriate markup for profit and hopefully be competitive with regards to what other contractors are charging in your particular area. Good luck.

P.S. There should be a spell-checker that you can hit before submitting posts or replies. You might consider using it.
