Here is a nice summer POTW to get our minds off the latest cold spell.
This is a vine that flowers in late Summer. I took these pictures in September.
Usual rules apply, I'll post the answer and the names of all who got it right when I'm darn good and ready.
Below is the POTW from afar.

Very nice plant for covering a structure quickly. Although a bit aggressive, it will take a severe 'hacking' and come back looking even better. Also has a very pleasant scent in flower.

When I posted this thread I forgot the name of the plant has been changed. Does that mean I'm getting old? Any of the names below are acceptable.
Clematis ternifolia or Clematis maximowicziana or Clematis paniculata - Sweet Autumn Clematis
Armitage describes the Sweet Autumn Clematis as a beautiful but self seeding thug. The planting you see is the first time I planted it. There are three or four vines along the fence that were planted a year earlier.
The following members get 100% credit:
VoodooChile
bcx400
dan deutekom
trees
Greensmith
4seasons
Those below forgot to send one half of the name, so we'll give them 50% credit:
Sleepy
Rivergirl
HardDaysKnight

This and C. armandii, Evergreen Clematis (which I think is only a zone 7 plant???), are the only ones I ever really use. Even though it can run a little rough-shod, I like the clean foliage and fragrant late-season flowers.
I grew it up a Canada Red Cherry (Prunus virginiana 'Schubert')once and the effect was stunning!
