Cleaning hedge shear blades?

Ive noticed the blades on my units are not looking so great. Im curious how often (if at all) you clean your blades and with what? Do you ever find they need sharpened; if so how do you go about that? Thanks

Nebraska is on a distinguished road
We don't really clean them... In the winter we will spray with WD-40.

We have Stihl and they all have a place to grease the gearbox underneath the engine. Access is through a large hex nut.

To sharpen we use a dremel tool or a file. It does take a little while. Sometimes we just drop them off at the small engine shop if we're short on time. They charge $30. We will sharpen them 2-3 times per season.

I just drop ours off at the shop. I don't have patience to sharpen 60 teeth in a sitting
