East Coast Spruce Supplier?
I often get requests for Colorado Blue Spruce here but have difficulty in locating decent trees for my customers. What I can find that's affordable I wouldn't bring home to my place. Many of the nurseries around here also plant trees as well so it isn't worth my time to try to compete.
I've been considering eliminating the middle man and am looking for a grower to deal with that's not too far away. I'm located outside Poughkeepsie, N.Y., which is about 70 miles due north of NYC. Can anyone suggest a wholesaler? Thanks!

See if they have the "Hoopsi Blue Spruce". It's what we use
and the Colorado doesn't seem to take well over here.
We have good success with the "Hoopsi" and it's readily available
and is with out a doubt much more blue.

HDK,
Are your suppliers able to grow a nicely-shaped 'Hoopsi'? I've heard and read that it is squirrelly in it's youth.

VooDoo... Yes, they look great. We only plant 5-6ft or above.
Maybe younger they may be a bit awkward but I can't say.
The blue color is awesome and consistent and that's key.
Virtually no green.

Im bringing this back since I still need trees and we have a great deal of new members since I've posted.
Just a recap, I'm looking for a tree farm that stocks 6 to 8 foot Colorado Blues within a 4 or 5 hour drive of Poughkeepsie, NY. Poughkeepsie is right on the Hudson River 1/2 way between NYC and Albany. That would make Central and Eastern Pennsylvania, all of Connecticut, Eastern Rhode Island, all of Massachusetts, all of Jersey, and most of Vermont.
What I want to do is get as many trees on my 21' flatbed trailer pulled by a 9' dump as I can. I can easily sell as many as I can carry. Can anyone help?

You might try Central Nurseries in Chepachet, RI (NW corner of RI). I'm not sure they grow them there but they do have a big tree farm and I've bought nice ones from them.
