How's this for a monday? Opened my truck door this morning to put my lunch cooler in, closed the door and the rear window "imploded" into the back seat, glass everywhere. Lovely.

Called the rental store, "gonna be late, gotta clean up my truck". Get stuck in traffic jam on the way to the rental store. Arrive to find out that they do NOT have 36" Mini-X available, even though I triple-checked with them beforehand. They "thought" they had one, but no, they only have a 48" wide one. No good.

Plan B, rent sod-cutter and two-man auger instead. This is for a job to put in 40 cedars in a hedge row. Soil is clay, soil is WET. Not fun. Now instead of trenching with the Mini and amending the whole planting bed, I can only amend the soil in each individual planting hole.

Spend the rest of the day waiting for (and calling to trace) the cedars which should have been delivered. 4:00 p.m. Three employees have been sitting around doing nothing for over an hour now. I give up and tell the nursery, "forget it, leave 'em on the truck if they're loaded, bring 'em tomorrow".

Rain starts falling to fill up the empty planting holes, and leak into my gaping window on my truck.

It wasn't all bad though...I was able to make it to my son's ball game for 6:30 after the rain subsided.

Tuesday's another day!

cutntrim,

You're WAY ahead of the game if you can look at a day like that and laugh (or enjoy your son's baseball game). Hope it goes better tommorow!

I tough it only happenend to me.
Saturday I finished real late so I brought the trailer with the bobcat to my house, parked there for sunday, this morning a tire went flat when I backed up, (my fault, turn too sharp) I took it off, brought it to the tire center, spend almost two hours, so I called the place where I had order my suplies (boulders and item 4) to tell'em I was going to be late at the site, so if they could wait a little or dump the materials by the turn around on the driveway, they said no problem actually the driver hasn't showed up yet, I got to the site and they call me to say that the driver called up sick, so no one available to deliver, I went there myself (the place was real close to the work site) lady tells me that I can use the skid steer to load up the boulders myself if I want, cause she is afraid to use it, fisrt trip no problem second trip I go back and at the second boulder the skid steer stars to leak real bad hidrauylic fluid, she says it has being leaking al little but this time is real bad, go back to the site all of the sudden I remember wait a minute where are the utility line flags, they were here last week I went by, with all the things going on that day I completly forget about that I know I saw'em and I know I called up, I go and ask the homeowner, his reply, well the guy that mowed the lawn pulled'em out.
So I go back to my truck and star loading things back, then there is my bobcat with a flat tire and a screw on it.

One load of boulders and 2 single pieces is all I could acomplished today.

Well after reading your post and the following replies I feel much better.

Well, we have finished a wall, pond, and seat wall out of Country Manor, and, have to lay 1200 sq ft of pavers then build another wall, seat wall and BBQ surround, then back out the machines as we go. It has to be done in this sequence so we can back the machines out without destroying the base and infrastructure of the patio. The best laid plans sometimes always are bpund to fail...

The supplier calls me today to tell me that they sold my pavers to someone else....And, it will be two weeks before they are running that color and style again, then another week before they tumble them. So, one full crew became available. After much screaming and telling them I could not wait for Unilock to open a plant out here, they call back and mysteriously located 1000 sq ft of product.

ARGH!!!!!! Mondays!
