circluar drive

did this one a few weeks ago and just got the film back.

Basically, the inside of a circular drive.

The design was partially based on what existed before. Before this, there were five large locust trees, and between them, the five large moss rocks that are still in the circle.

I came up with this design because I had to rip out five monster stumps..........I was woried about the getting proper compaction where the holes were........so I came up with the idea of placing pavers between the five old stump holes, and then.......put the old rock back in the middle of each walk. This way, if any thing sinks it will be the rocks, not the brick.

I'm really not crazy about the wall in the middle........the color didn't match as well as I thought..........looks very white, kind of stuck out. The pavers were charcoal and red flash......and the wall was suppose to be antique grey.....but it really, really was a antique grey. I'll just say that the block look better on the pallet yard than when I got done.

it was fun laying this one out......it wasn't 100% perfect, but pretty close. Trying to cut a perfect circle in the asphalt wasn't easier, and then trying to line up the circle wall dead center with the circle drive was even tougher. Overall, pretty happy though.

I think that looks really good!

I like the use of the diagonal pattern on the 5 walkways that spread out from the center. Was it a bear getting each walkway equally spaced and sized? I would think CAD would have come in handy for this one.

I like to crawl into my skid steer bucket and have a guy extend the bucket as high as it will go, when I want those 'aerial' shots.

That looks really cool Steve! I'd be proud of that job. Definitely not for the beginner! I think a large, brass sun dial or bronze statue in the center would be the perfect accent pieces when the home owner does their flower bed(assumed) in the center. Tim

Steve,

Looks awsome. Looks like there was a lot of head scratching and missed lunches there!

I agree with Tim on the sundial idea. However, I'm going to go with granite for the material with some thyme around the base. Perhaps some boxwood and perennials in the circles.

Gorgeous stuff, keep posting so we can share ideas!

Great design and build. I think you can add Craftsman to your resume!

Keep up the custom residential work.

Peace,

Rex
