That looks nice. How much did those stones cost on average?

We do a lot of outcropping stairs. Do you use fabric and compacted aggregate under yours, P-train? How do you treat the edges of the steps where they transition into the hill? I find that can be a problem area for wash, and try to plant those corners up with creepy-crawly stuff to hold the soil.

Cool stuff P-Train and Voodoo!!

I always have lots of fun putting in steps like that. Something about working with big stones.

I love and miss that look P-train and Voodoo! We can't find decent rocks like that for less than $1,500.00 a ton, and with all the slopes we have, what an awesome way to naturalize a home.

cutntrim

I usually pay $80 per tonne picked up for the stones shown in pic, beats paying per sq ft.

I am North-East of Toronto have some Orillia quarry contacts if you want.

The rock is about $140 per ton I think. Each of those weighs between 700# and 1000#.

As far as prep, I used native clay and compacted it. That’s pretty much it.

The homeowner owns a nursery and landscaped it himself. I think they put in daylilies, winter jasmine and a few other things.
