questn Insurance Question

I have a 13 year old landscaping business and while I've only had one minor work comp claim, my commercial policy rates (which includes property, work comp, gen. liab., auto, etc) keep going up each year. I will be "shopping" insurance companies this fall and am wondering if anyone has had any experience with a company called Hortica which offers insurance specific for green trades. Any input would help, I will be meeting with them in a few weeks. Thanks!

questn Hortica Insurance, anyone have it or dealt with them?

Me again. In the process of getting quotes one of which is from a company called Hortica or Florists Mutual Insurance. I'm intrigued by them as they cater to exactly what my company does, but will it be at a higher price? It's taken them over 2 months to get back to me with a quote which makes me worry about how they might handle any future claims. Will it take forever or will I even be able to reach anyone there?

If you have or know someone who has worked with this company PLEASE give me your input asap as I need to make a decision by the end of the year!

Thanks!

I used Hortica when I was at a company in Asheville, NC. They were very easy to work with. Next time you call, ask for Candy Latham. She was my rep. Good Luck.

i think its a common practice for agents to raise rates and see what happens.. every year for about the 5 or 6 years they raised our rates, so we shopped around found cheaper prices. when we told them we were leaving they could magically reduce our rates, but its to late at that point. but then the new company does the same thing, idk i think they just assume people will get complacent and there insurance will go out so they can get away with it...
