angry Another Unhappy Clip Customer

We too use Clip in our office and are frustrated with the lack of service and the seemingly archaic software.

We are currently looking into Qxpress and would like some feedback as to how smooth it is to make the switch. Can we download our customer base from Clip?
Also, is Qxpress the only other worthwhile software...any suggestions?

I am tired of paying to run the "Beta" version of Clip and getting updates to FIX updates.
Thanks all

I don't think you can download your customer base from CLIP, however if you are using CLIP with QB, then you can get all your customer information transfered from QB.

We started using Qxpress last year and the transition was fairly easy. There is still a learning curve, like any other program, but it was pretty quick. The biggest headache was setting up all the company documents and scheduling all over, but it was well worth it in the end. We used CLIP, and I will tell you that QXpress is far more advanced and works almost flawlessly with Quick Books.

Even if you aren't using Clip with QB you can export your customer info to excel and then import from excel into QB. You will not be able to import all your scheduled jobs; just the basic customer info.

If you go with QX you will need to sign up for their Keep Me Current Plan. It costs $295 per year. If you do not sign up each year for this you will not be eligible for support; even paid support. I am currently in this boat. I have a problem with Qx and I am not eligible for support. I may end up having to update. The sticky widget is that the Keep Me Current Plan is cumulative. So if you miss three years you must pay $900 to get reinstated. They do provide you with a certain number of support minutes with this plan each year as well as all updates to the program each year.

What version/program of Clip have you been using?
