You used to take guys to the toilet?
Only in emergencies would we do that. Otherwise, it's expected to show some intestinal fortitude.
#1 is a different story, though.
Since we're talking about this, I thought I'd share an interesting thing I discovered about diet and the need to use the bathroom. When I was young I could go all day without a bathroom trip without a problem. As I got older it seemed like that ability was dimished, to the point where the last 5 or 6 seasons, if I ate anything for lunch I'd need to find a bathroom shortly thereafter or pay a severe price.
I wouldn't eat breakfast, and would maybe eat a granola bar at some point in the day. I'd eat like a horse when I got home in the evening to make up for it.
This year, however, I did something counterintuitive - I started eating a lot during the day. I'd have a banana and some toast before work, and even on my way to the shop I'd start eating my lunch, which this year consisted of two PB&J's, a big salad (w/ meat, cheese, veggies), raisins, an apple, a banana and that granola bar. And maybe a soda.
The unexpected result was, I didn't need to leave the site to find a bathroom during the day. Didn't have the need.
And I have no idea why. I'm sure there's some complicated mechanisms at work that made this happen, but I don't know what they were. I just know it worked.
So if you're like me, getting longer in the tooth and not able to set as good an example about bathroom breaks as you used to, give this a try. Lots of good, healthy food through the day.
