Have had my website up just a few weeks now, and have been in the process of editing it...I'm at the point now where I need some constructive criticism/advice oabout how it looks, or what it's missing, etc...I plan on posting several more photos up as I can, eventually complete with a slide show...other than that, not sure what I should add/change, or even remove...please take a minute to stop by and let me know what you think, thanks to everyone

- nice layout.
- hidden source though, couldn't see meta tags for description and title line.
- just a comment/concern: I wouldn't list any pricing online. Our work is custom, each site different. Should be priced as such. Just my 2 cents.
- Needs More pictures. perhaps a "my work" page.
Overall looks great.

I don't think there's hidden code - he's just not using any meta tags. Title tag is there, though.
Re: the site - is there a logo?
Faces sell - put some in there. Even if you're the ugliest guy on the face of the planet, it's often better than not having any faces at all. As agla mentions in another thread, people are looking for a connection. Give them a chance to like you by showing them your face. Tweak your pics if you have to (whiter teeth, thinner, etc).
I agree about not putting prices on the web. Guaranteed you'll end up spending time explaining to someone why their project is not the same as the one pictured, justifying a higher price (and the client thinking you're sticking it to them).
Making your html files for your pages more descriptive is a good idea (right now they look like 193848392.html).
I'd also nix the 24/7 phonecalls. Sounds like a tow truck service. And they will expect you to answer the calls 24/7, and will be disappointed if/when you don't.
All in all it's a nice template, and maybe I'm feeling impatient today, but the text seems too imposing for me to take the time to read through it. It needs breaks in the form of pictures within the paragraphs, maybe make the tone more conversational, too. Break out the text into more paragraphs - it's easier to read and digest that way.

you need a connection between your business and the site. As stone mentioned, 'where's the logo?' If I were to go to your website one nite, and then see your truck down the street, it is likely I wouldn't recognize it and make the connection.
Tie it together. Put your logo, company lettering, slogan, etc. right up there. Make it DOMINATE the page. You want people to put 2 and 2 together.
Also, it seems a little busy. When I first went on, I thought it was a yahoo page with all sorts of other stuff and links to other stuff for sale.
Make the first page plain and too the point. Interested people will navigate through the site if they are interested, but you have to get them interested first. Nothing here really gets my attention.

I agree on your needing a logo, plus get your face onto the site. My real estate agency website has our (my wife & I) pictures all over it and it has caused us to be recognized everywhere we go (locally).
I do like that you put your prices in there. I think people want to know what sort of cost they're looking at, and I expect it will bring you business. I'm much more likely to inquire about a product if I have some idea of the costs. I click right off websites that say "Contact Us" for pricing.
Overall, I like your website. Tweak it a little and it will be great!

thank you for the feedback, not sure whether or not I should take of the "promotions" off the site, hear good and bad points about it, both which are valid...need a logo, will be there within the week, of course way more pictures....and definitely the personal photo seems to be a good idea as well...all great suggestions from members...thanks again everyone...still open and hoping to hear more feedback

Took a quick look and the two things that really catch my eye (or fail to) are the lack of a bold into/ logo, which it sounds like you are working on, and the number and size of the pics. I'd like to have lot's of pics that I can click to enlarge. And some happy looking workers would be nice too. Other than that it looks good.

please take the promotion price down.
Maybe you can include a coupon for $100 off
can you also explain how on earth can you make a 105sqf. walkway for $995?
Around my area just for materials and deliver would be about $700 usign the most econimical pavers.

I do plan on taking down the promotion rates, probably tonight....as far as material cost, good quality pavers are all I ever use...range from $2.25 to about $3.00 a square foot....base material and labor don't kick the cost up too much more....thanks for the review!

anybody have any suggestions what I can replace my promotions page with? I know I need more photos up, and plan to do so, but in the meantime is there another aspect I can include in on the site? Thanks to everyone who has taken the time to look and reply!

I'm not trying to give you a hard time at all but I had the same thinking couple of years ago.

Edging with spikes every 12" about 8 sections = $160
Item 4 3 yds = 90
sand = 20
pavers 105sqf $2.50(zero waste ) = 262.5
string line = 1
spray paint (half can) = 3
Fuel averaga of 10 gal per day = 33
pallet deposit $15
Deliver Fees $150 even if you use your truck it has to get paid somehow.
Total $684.5
Sales tax (8%) 54.76
Left $255.74
From that you have to pay your workers
(consider yourself one) + insurance, equipment, and all other overhead

you make some good valid points, with the "promotion" that I had up there, my estimate is about $10 per square foot...maybe I should lean towards $12

Put "Go Vols!"
Or "Go Big Orange"
Or "Give Hime 6!"
somewhere in there.
You could have Rocky Top playing also.
Just a thought...
Go Vols!
