Trade shows-Symposiums

I have never been to a national trade show or symposium. I would love to go to one, but not sure which would be best. Any suggestions?

Have you attended New England Grows? Also, what type of products are you most interested in seeing at a trade show?

I go to the Mid Am every year in Chicago, but I think for what that show offers, you could get the same thing closer to home.

What are you after in a show? Seminars? New products? Networking ops? New suppliers?

Yes I have been to the New England Snows, I mean grows. It snows every year, and I seem to have to rush through. I am most interested in seminars and networking right now.

Mid Am seems to work pretty well for us for seminars and some networking - heck, I've been able to meet face to face some of the fine people here when visiting Mid-Am. I attended about 4 seminars, but was disappointed with every one - they each seemed to be more worried about pushing the latest book or dangling some tasty financial info, only to require a future meeting and $$ to actually get any real info.

Hmmm, this doesn't sound like a glowing endorsement, does it? The seminars are not usually that way, and I've been very satisfied with the info I get when attending them. Just last year I wasn't too happy.

But they also give me a chance to network with my state landscape assoc, meet others in other geographic or business areas.

I'd recommend it highly. Sometimes helps to see your business in a new light when you get out and meet others in the same field.

I have heard lots of good things about GIE which is being held in ST. Louis this year. This is jointly sponsored by ALCA, PLCAA and PGMS. Hope to go sometime.
