dan deutekom is on a distinguished road
In my part of the world it is usual for half of the crew to not come back. Some find better work during the off season that lasts all year, some join other companies and others change the type of work all together. I say just suck it up, look for some new guys and carry on. This is the plight of the industry and until we can offer yearlong full-time employment we are going to go through this every spring.

Does anyone NOT have experience with employee attrition?

I'm in Dan's part of the world, and I just lost both of my experienced guys after they'd worked for me for four years. It's currently me, my dad lined-up part-time, and one new hire who's a student, plus a half-dozen resumes on my desk.

I guess I am going to have to face reality. Like Cutntrim said. So far I have been glad when guys quit, and when I think about it I am glad these guys did too.

Maybe I can find some guys with a PMA, that would be a nice change.

I am still curious if I should expect a down year or if we are going to keep plugging along with modest growth.
