GH... these problems are easily solved. But we have to reduce the numbers to common denominators and remove the subjective factors that are causing you problems.

PM me your e mail address and I will send you a couple of things that may help you out.
I can send you my budget and some other things I use, and that we use in COMPASS to get to all the things Rick is asking.

This business is all about MATH. Everything is numerically quantifiable. When we manage by the numbers, we remove the human and emotional factor (to some extent) that produces inconsistency in our business.

You are using 2 different forms of estimating. That is not going to work well at all. You are gasp...gasp ..choke ... WORKING FOR FREE ???

you time is valuable and you deserve to be compensated, and not getting paid for your time will result in skewed production and profit numbers. It is of NO BENEFIT for you to work for free.

I see Rick was in here a few hours ago, I am on west Coast time... so I will check back later today... I have to go to the house and paint interior trim..

Georgiehopper,
Alot of emphasis has been placed on the Compass Systems course. I agree that it will beneft you and your husband now and in the future.
I have never taken one of their classes, nor am I even in the green industry. But I am serioiusly considering taking their course.
I have been talking with Rick and Rob about some issues my business is seeing lately, and can honestly tell you that they are genuinely wlling to help you and not trying to sell you a class.
The reality: business is all about numbers and what you do with those numbers determines your success or failure. I also lack in the area of business math, and know that I need to learn it if I want to grow my business succesfully. I recently learned, that as a business owner, you need to educate yourself. You need to budget in courses and classes for you and your husband. Took me a while to realize this as well, but I am now doing it.
Listen to these guys.......they WILL help you. Start doing some reading and taking some classes, and stay with this forum. You wll do just fine!
Just my 2 cents!

I am seriously considering taking the course/class...just can't do it right now.

My husband has had business courses so he understands the numbers ...but obviously not well enough I guess.
