Bill Schwab is an unknown quantity at this point
Todd:

Easy solution. Bill at least once per week, always take deposits to secure time slots, and, be prepared to pull off the job if the pay is slow. You are a small business, not a credit card company, nor a bank.

There is a new Consumers Protection Act in Ontario which will in effect mean that ANY work done for homeowners will require a written estimate and contract. Until last year, I only had written contracts set up for commercial maintenance accounts and for landscape jobs that were over an arbitrary amount (usually > $1k). Last winter was the first that I had signed contracts even for residential snowplowing, and this summer ALL customers were under signed contract for all maintenance services. Now, even a little extra job, like installing 1yd of mulch for a homeowner, will technically require an estimate/contract.
