Please Help with Rock Problem!!

Last fall I did some work on a softball field. We layed new sod around the foul area and dugouts. We then dug down and put chat (fine rock) between the fencing and new sod. The rock is now inching out onto the grass and wearing it down. It is slowly killing more grass.

I can't use any type of edging on the playing field, but I was wandering if there is any type of bonding agent to put on the rock to hold it in place?

Chat? Never heard the term. How big is it? Can you use a type of polymeric with it?

Gravel and grass/mulch are always going to bleed into one another unless you use some type of edging. If it's near the fence and won't interfere with the playing field, why can't you just use some edging?
I would agree with FineEdge, I think polymer is going to be your only answer..but I think it may be only a temporary solution

We have a AAA baseball team in town that actually will consult or come out to help with athletic fields. I am sure that there is a cost involved. I would look for some NCAA fields or some minor league MLB teams in the area. Most of the turf managment people in a professionel stadium setting are good at what they do. Not knocking anyone here. I think some of these guys could grow grass in the middle of a paved parking lot.
