Thank You! I am also looking at Stilhl. Is there a model that you would recommend? I want it to be able to handle the Fall cleanups well, yet not be a monster to operate.
What are some of the important points you would want to research in a blower?
Thanks!

It's all about air volume, measured in cubic feet/minute. Stihls are awesome, so are Windmills. A good $500 backpack will last years and years, and you'll never regret the money you spent, especially during leaf season.
I'd probably get the Echo, too. Seems like a good price. And if you don't like it you can always sell it on Craig's List, ha ha.
It's probably in line with the home depot homeowner models. I think I recall that one going for upper 200's in the dealers. I wouldn't rely on it for serious leaf pushing but job site cleanups and stuff should be ok.
I have used all those blowers and the one that really is the best for me is redmax7001 for all season long and redmax8001 for fall clean ups you buy one of this and you will never regret it.
Lot's of power no echo blower can match.
Starts always in the second or third pull when cold and first after is warm stihl 5+ times when is cold if you're lucky looses all the power after couple seasons.
Shindawa decent but the design is so awful.

i agree on the redmax 7001 and 8001. i have both and would probably even lean toward the 7001's in the future since they are cheaper than the 8001's and not a huge power difference between the two. they're smaller and lighter too.
