Stopping winter weeds

In our area (Zone 7) we get a whole new crop of different weeds for the winter time. I'm wondering if an over-the-top pre-emergent such as Snapshot will work to control these culprits? When is the best time to apply it for cold weather control?

Here in zone 4-3 we apply a final application in October then of course about 60 days out the frost layer sets in and no further weed problems. Then start again in mid-March.

The label has applications being made sooner than 60 days with 150lb per acre (3.5lb per 1000) with maximum of 600lb per acre in 12 months. What weeds are they? Snapshot controls a ton of them.....Professional Preen is the same product. Trifluralin & isoxaben

I am in zone 7 and I use Surflan in the fall for winter weed control and again right before spring for the summer broadleafs.

Surflan has a few drawbacks and those are it likes to stain EVERYTHING it touches and IT is very expensive in comparision to dimension

Now for broadleaf weeds you can also try Trimec after the first frost and that may help with most of the stragling weed seeds
