recommendations for "flopping" arborvitae

Hey everybody,

I've got a row of arbs at my house that is approx. 8' tall. During the rough winter here in Michigan a lot of the tops were weighted down by snow loads. They really haven't recovered and I'm wondering what I should do with them. I've seen people tie them up before to keep them upright, does this actually work? If so, any suggestions for technique, material to use, etc.?

Thanks!

NCSULandscaper is an unknown quantity at this point
get some large bamboo stakes and tie the arb up and down the trunk lightly to it, it will correct itself but will take time

Used panty hose make a really good tieing material for this. The nylon is strong, but flexibel enough so that it doesn't damage the trunks. Sometimes I have to explain why there are panyy hose in my tool box.
