how to get jobs with city, state, county?

just wondering im only 19 and have a buddy who is 18 and im just thinking about getting a job with the city state or county because that would be a pretty good paying job i think and just sounds much better than residential.

im just wondering if they would even hire people my age but now that i think of it dont u have to bid on the jobs and then you work for what u bid on?

what are some other good thoughts on some jobs that have lots of property and it would give me a chain of jobs... i was thinking real estate companies but then i was thinking of other places as well.

I think that before you can even qualify for those kinds of jobs you're going to need to show that you have general liability insurance, worker's comp, unemployment insurance. You may also need a bond or be bondable. I would suspect that you don't have these things, but I could be mistaken.

Lots of jobs and kind of easy to get. 19 years old.

Nope.
Can't think of any.

Wait a minute...... Work for a builder.
Again, like Stone pointed out, you're going to need all those things he mentioned.

I can say with complete confidence that if any of us knew of laydown sales, we'd be keeping them for ourselves...

If you want easier closes, go learn how to sell. I had a kid knock on the door last night- clearly a scammer, telling me he was "with a construction company doing work in your town right now" and all the associated BS. But man, he was good! I let him do his whole song and dance because he was nailing it... then asked for his contractor's license # and watched him hustle on down the road. He's clearly a dirty piece of crap, but you know he's a closer.

Now just imagine having that ability and selling a REAL service, and one that will get you referrals. Seriously, you're young- go learn how to sell from someone who does it well. Combine that with a willingness to go for the jobs that are more than a laydown, and you'll be off to a good start.
