POWER RAKING...how to price it out.

Hi there everyone,

I have ventured into a new arena this year, Lawn care. I just had a potential customer call me up wanting a quote to power rake his lawn. I'd like to get some input from anyone who has experience with this service so that I can accurately price this out for him instead of looking like a fool. Please feel free to email me directly at K4Seasons@gmail.com

Yours in Nature,

Mike Kennedy

What size job/machine

What machine do you propose to use? That's going to make a big difference, as is the size of the job.

I have a 2-metre (6'6") Koro FTM with a verticut reel and I can make one fairly aggressive pass over 4,000 sq.m. in about an hour and a half. But I guess you would be using something like a 10 hp Ryan Mataway or (not a real "pro" tool) a 5 hp Ryan Ren-O-Thin, both with an 18" working width?????

everybody has to start out out small. my ren-o-thin works great for what i do and it only cost me $100.00!! its a little more work, but i have a low initial investment. i have no idea how much to charge. usually i kind of judge it by an hourly basis. still trying to formulate a price per square foot price.

It seems as though some spammers have infiltrated the site, Stone, ie the post above as well as the thread regarding investing.
