I hosted a party here at my home yesterday and the grass is pretty well trampled. What would be the best way to restore it? My instincts are fertilizer and keep it watered, but are there any other tips to speed the process?

Mostly water - give it a good 1.5" of water in one long drink.. Fertilize only lightly this time of year -- not at all if your area is being really scorched. As soon as cooler temps hit (regularly below 80 degrees)hits - core aerate.

Fluff with a blower or a bamboo rake. Remove and compost the thatch if you use the rake.
