New Lawn care logo

Not sure if this is the right area for this.

I entered a contest at DesignOutpost.com and here is the finished logo!

Pretty cool!

They have some talented people there, don't they?

Have you had a chance to get any letterhead or trucks lettered with it?

Hi,
As I said over at DO, I think you got a great logo. Here's the current contest for my hubby's business logo: http://www.designoutpost.com/forums/index.php?act=ST&f=4&t=863&s=

Actually I check in from time to time to see what lawn care/ landscape companies are holding contests. I have been watching your contest. I think its just amazing how they come up with very different logos for each contest.

Jeff,

I JUST got the final files last night. Between the designer being really busy and all my tweaking it has taken some time to complete. I do not think I will get the truck lettered before Fall. The main thing is the shirts. Mine are about ready to fall apart on me. I will post when i get a completed shirt.

I just had to laugh at your shirt comment. The same situation exists here.
So I'm looking for comments and opinions on the submitted logos thus far. Come on, don't be shy. Tell me what you think.

Of all of Lanelle's logos, I like the second one from Dan's second set of entries. Has a very nice feel to it. Would look good on Tshirts, dark colored vehicles, and on anything on paper.

I like the feel of it also but there are several problems with it. First, the nearly identical tree is being used by a local nursery for their logo and 2 of our competitors have similar trees as their logos. Second, the tools are out of proportion with what looks to be a rather mature tree. And finally, the overall arrangement of the tools needs to be reworked.
I'm sure I'll eventually get something that I really like but we're not there yet.

Hmmm.....ratio of tool size to tree size - are you looking for photo-realism?

Sometimes when I design a patio, I only use a portion of a circle to suggest the entire circle - the viewers mind imagines the rest. I don't know that someone would view the logo and say "look at that - the wheelbarrow is way too big."

Kind of like the 'Oak' tree that's here, that serves as the impetus for so many things - Gold Oak member, Acorn Awards.... I don't know of any type of Oak that has a shape like that - but did anyone notice it until I just said it? Probably not. And those that did probably didn't care.
