Yard ready for a March Wedding?

Ok you lawn gurus and sports field pro's

I have a friend getting married in March and they have decided to do an outside wedding in a tent.

Area to be tented 70x70

current grass type Bahia and Weeds

Location Orlando Florida

All options are open sod seed whatever you think will give the best yard for the time and event

Her wants smooth walking no high heels tripping or sinking would prefer to carpet the area

His wants Grass

If it was in June id be sod cutting the area out month prior and putting in Zoysia sod but in march im afraid it wont look very nice it is a hit or miss with zoysia sod in march as far as how it looks

Any questions ask

Carpet might be the answer I dont know?

Any ideas \

Thanks

Expensive.....but yes, a viable option.

Problem is and you mentioned it...................High heels.

Backyard weddings are great.........more intimate and more relaxed for all concerned.

May I suggest...............1 - you could not be to worried about the lawns condition and roll out that indoor/outdoor stuff. My sister in laws sisters wedding they did that.........2 - get the grass up to snuff beginning now......killing weeds and seeding and it will be trashed by the end of the day. 3 - would be trying the artificial turf.........But why bother with the expense.

Realisticaly.......people won't care if the lawn is perfect. You are going to have tables, chairs and lots of people on it.........so why bother?

What I would do is include in the invitation that it will be a backyard wedding and that appropriate foot wear be worn.

since its before florida gets hot--
why not try to slit seed in blue grass and keep it watered and weeds killed?
