Weed killer

I read today if you boil one quart of water with one quarter cup of regular table salt that it works similar to Round up. What does suspended sodium chloride in H2O deaden weeds?

Yes it works but it also plays **ll with your soil bcause it leaves a high salt content. It kills just like road salt kills plants. It just sucks the moisture right out of the plant.

PS: It is not environmentally friendly. Gasoline, Diesel fuel and H2SO4 also work but I wouldn't use them either.

A strong vinegar solution also works and you can get Horticultural Vinegar that is properly registered for this purpose.

I am tired of hearing about all these home remedies that are supposedly better and safer than the "chemical" products.

Remember that even Di-hydrogen Monoxide can kill you.

Sorry but that is my rant

Maybe we should start a movement to ban that stuff...
