BusyBee,
There are several products that are targeted speciically to crabgrass and will do relaively little harm to Fescue when applied by a licensed applicator.

A licenced applicator here in Chemlawn which I hate. They are really good at keeping the weeds growing so they can profit from applications. Do you know specifically which chemicals work?

The box stores carry several ortho products that target crabgrass. It is better to do pre-emergents though.

One product that's effective on crabgrass is called Drive. Expensive though at $85 per lb.

Bayer Advanced Lawn All-in-One Weed Killer is available at Lowe's and works well. Kills broadleaf plus crabgrass. Be careful using it in extreme heat though.

We've used Drive before and was very effective. Read the label concerning temperature requirements.

Does Drive work on post-emergent crabgrass? And where can you find it? I know pre-emergent is best but a little late now.

Crab grass will be dying off in a month or so when temps drop. Drive can be used for post emergent control. We apply it at 1 oz per gallon of water in a back pack sprayer. You can find it at Lesco.
