What type of weeds? Maybe a pre-emergent was called for. Weed this year, lay down weed-n-feed next year

First of all, in my opinon you are not "LANDSCAPING" you are "MAINTAINING"
As for a soloutoin you could wick on herbacides on the weeds growing up through the lilies. You can use cardboard to protect the plants that dont need the killer. You might try to cut the bark of a tree growing up in a bed and wipe the nasty stuff on the cambium layer. Its all common sence.

What kind of weeds?

How long have the daylilies been there?

If the daylilies are well established, you can use Casoron or Dyclomec--same thing. We have done this in the past when the weeds were really bad and the daylilies are well established without problems. Just make sure you stay at least an arm's length away from turf and be extremely careful with slopes. Don't go real heavy on the application either.
